Rick Meyers

Rick Meyers (born 1958), an Abilene native, began playing tennis as a family activity with his siblings. He attended Cooper High School in Abilene where he won the 5A state singles title in 1976 (63-0). Meyers played tennis at Texas Christian University where he earned a degree in marketing and was All-Southwest Conference for four years. He competed in all four Grand Slam tournaments. As a volunteer for USTA Texas and the USTA, he helped develop the Texas junior tournament format and ranking system that was used from 1996 until 2021.
