Quinn Connelley

Quinn Connelley (1910-1970) grew up in Fort Worth competing in football, basketball, track and tennis at Central High School (now Paschal HS). After graduating from Rice Institute in 1934, he remained at Rice as the tennis coach and was a key figure on the campus in what is now referred to as the “Golden Era of Rice Sports”. His players won 4 NCAA championships and 15 Southwest Conference titles. In addition to coaching at Rice, Connelley was a popular tennis teaching pro at the first tennis club established in Houston.
